About BR Veterinary Physiotherapy

About Me

Hi, I’m Katie, your Veterinary Physiotherapist! I’ve always had a big passion for animals for as long as I could remember. Over the last eight years, I have spent most my free time volunteering and working in variety of animal industries to help expand my knowledge and help as many animals as I could. This has included working and volunteering in a variety of Kennels, Catteries, Equestrian Centres, Groomers, Farms, a Hydrotherapy Centre and a ferret sanctuary. I was even lucky enough to be taken out for a day by Essex Police to help and witness their police dog training day!

I studied at Writtle University College, where I finished with a Level 3 Advanced Technical Extended Technical Diploma in Animal Management. This is where I learnt about behaviour, nutrition and animal welfare. I continued on to their university where I have now qualified with a Masters in Veterinary Physiotherapy and have now also become qualified in Canine Hydrotherapy. Now, I want to spend my time making a difference within the animal community, by helping animals recover from injuries, preventing injuries, reducing pain and helping improve overall quality of life of each patient I treat.

Setting up BR Veterinary Physiotherapy was a big step forward within my career. The name BR is devoted to my brilliant dad, who sadly passed away in 2024. My dad was a big source of my passion for animals, so it only feels right to continue to bring him with me on my physiotherapy journey.

I am also a member of RAMP! This is the 'Register of Animal Musculoskeletal Practitioners'.

When finding a physiotherapist for your animal, it is important that they are registered with a recognised industry regulatory body such as RAMP. But what does this mean?

All RAMP registered paraprofessionals are required to maintain a GOLD standard in practice.

This includes having to complete 25 CPD hours every year so that all practitioners remain up to date with current research, treatment techniques and equipment. This ensures every patient receives the highest quality care, using the most up to date practices.
